Family reunion held at Uncle Doug and Aunt Bev’s cottage North of Kingston this past weekend.
Greetings to Scott Londry from Michigan! After boasting of our Canadian roots, Scott soon after found this web site and wrote to fill us in on the American contingent of Londry’s. Since the mid-1800′s there has been a line of Londry’s in Michigan and Scott tells us that some have travelled on to Arizona, Colorado, and perhaps California. Thanks for contacting us Scott! I have no doubt my Uncle Doug is working with the information you provided to expand our family history. Any update to that history will be posted here.
The Londry name is not a prolific one. Historicly French with a traditional spelling of “Landry”. I had always thought that our name was the result of some immigration Anglicization but my Uncle Doug has dug (ha) a little deeper and written up this document. Turns out we’re Acadians and that some cross-border hopping with the States eventually morphed our name from Landry to Londrie and finally Londry. But Canada is where the name stuck and I’m proud to have a name indigenous to this country.
For me, the Londry family has always been represented by this picture:

Christmas in Timmins
I’m the goofball, first row, second from left. This picture was taken in our home in Timmins, ON. At the time, my dad and two of his three siblings lived in the GTA (Greater Timmins Area). When I think of the Londry Family, this is the image that comes to mind. Christmas in Northern Ontario, surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandparents. The only thing missing is Nathalie and Elizabeth, who showed up a little later. I include this picture so they don’t feel left out:

The Kids in Kingston
Despite our penchant for bad haircuts, we’re a friendly bunch. If you are, were, or know a Londry, please feel free to contact us. We’d love to hear from you!
After much waiting, the Londry domain has finally become available and we now have our spot marked on the Internet! Hopefully, the site will grow over time and new features will become available. For now, it’s a calling card for any other Londry’s that might be out there and interested in finding out more about our little clan.
